National Accident Relief Services SchemeThe Union Government has received a proposal from the State Government of Himachal Pradesh regarding procurement of ten heavy and ten light duty cranes under National Highway Accident Relief Service Scheme;
Under National Highways Accident Relief Service Scheme (NHARSS), the proposal regarding heavy duty cranes and small recovery cranes received from the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, along with similar other proposals received during last financial year. These have been considered, and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has already placed an order for supply of five small recovery cranes specially designed for Hilly areas, to the Government of Himachal Pradesh on 25.05.2011. The delivery of these cranes is to be completed within six months. Besides, under National Highways Accident Relief Service Scheme (NHARSS), this Ministry has provided 11 Heavy duty cranes, 17 small recovery cranes for hilly areas and 15 ambulances to Government of Himachal Pradesh till date.
This information was given by the Minister of State of Road Transport and Highways, Dr. Tushar A Chaudhary in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
