China launched a sting operation targeting counterfeit goods about a month ago.
Nearly 120,000 governmental enforcers overhauled 254,000 businesses, destroyed 486 underground factories turning out fake goods, investigated 2,162 cases of trademark violations, confiscated 1.66 million fake trademarks, destroyed 667,000 counterfeit goods, and charged two violators with intellectual property-related crime.
China has also banned the sale of top luxury brands outside Beijing chain stores - whether or not they are genuine items.
