A Coach has to provoke. I learnt this years ago on Coachville website. It works.
I used this at the workplace as a Team Leader and a Boss. It worked very well.
Suddenly Announced Sales Blitzes, short tests, quickly held competitions with Prizes to motivate instantly delivered and Thank you Notes were all contributors to the success of this Provocation to the wonderful Sales Teams we built and led.
I read this wonderful Today's Inspirational Quote:
"If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person. It's how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit." -- William J. Clinton
A friend sent me this great message on Social Media. Do you know the relation between two eyes...??? They never see each other... BUT
1. They blink together.
2. They move together.
3. They cry together.
4. They see together.
5. They sleep together.
They share a very deep bonded relationship...
However, when they see a pretty woman, one will blink and another will not...
Moral of the story: A pretty woman can break any relationship...
Well, That's a provocative statement. Ain't it :). But that was made in jest, no offence intended to anyone.
And the beginning of this provocation business starts at your own home ! Teach your own children to Question. Teach them the 5 Wives and 1 Husband :) ( What, When, Where, How, Why and Which - the standard Questions first). Teach them to ask them politely, curiously !
Have you used Provocation as a tool as a Coach, Leader or Boss?
