“To believe or not to believe, is a problem. To leave or to conceive is another problem. To ascertain and to achieve is to solve the problem.”
― A. Saleh
Our #26th CSuitism is called Dillemism and has its origins in the phrase " Dillemas of the Modern Man".
I learnt in management about the power of decision making. Decision making under uncertainty or with very limited options can not be solved scientifically - it needs a special talent, different skills and unfortunately they are not taught in Business Schools.
Dilemma Definition
Forced choice between two (or more) courses of action which are equally disfavored or favored. For example, a choice between debt (which has to be paid back withinterest and onschedule, but which generally does not affect ownerscontrolof the business) and equity (which does not have to be paid back but may result in dilution or loss of control to outsiders). See also double bind.
“Whatever I learned,
Whatever I knew,
Seems like those faded years of childhood that flew,
Away in some dilemma,
Always in some confusion,
The purpose of this life,
Seems like an illusion!”
― Mehek BassiChained: Can you escape fate?

This one is for the Chief in the C Suite:
"A king, realizing his incompetence, can either delegate or abdicate his duties. A father can do neither. If only sons could see the paradox, they would understand the dilemma."
Marlene Dietrich

Faced with forced choices and tough decisions - C Suite Members will do well to remember this quote:
"There's a woman I see who's not my therapist, but she's like an old friend who's a therapist in profession. She lets me talk to her like a therapist once in a while, and she does a great thing. Whenever I have a big dilemma, like this is a big problem in my life, she always says, 'Wow, you're going to have to figure that out."
And finally, This quote gets the Cake !
“That's the dilemma, isn't it? When you're single, there's the sadness and joy of "only me." And when you're paired, there's the sadness and joy of "only you.”
