Today is Beard Tax Day :)

Did you know...

... that today is Beard Tax Day? On this day in 1698, Russia's Peter the Great imposed a tax on beards. At the time hairless necks and faces were all the rage in the Western World, so the Czar - who had a fondness for anything Westernized - ordered his subjects to lose their face fuzz. Eventually, he let up a little on that order and imposed an annual "beard tax" upon those who wanted to keep their facial hair. Trivia fans: Despite the fee's widespread unpopularity, it remained in place until 1772, 47 years after Peter's death!

"I'm not waiting until my hair turns white to become patient and wise. Nope, I'm dyeing my hair tonight."
